One of my colleague's husband was brought into the emergency department and had a
cardiac arrest. Claire was involved with the team treating this. I was with my colleague in the relatives
room whilst this was happening, Claire came in to speak to her once she was able to and explained to
us what was happening to him and was extremely supportive and compassionate and explained all
things clearly.
Then today she came to our department to check we were all ok unknowing that whether we would be
concerned about our colleague and her husband. I mentioned how I appreciated her coming to speak
to us yesterday and she said she does this on all occasions, not just for Staff, this seems to me to be
an extremely good thing and definitely helps to install confidence in staff members like herself.
